Insurance Company of Africa also known as ICA was established in 1969, and is the only insurance company incorporated in Liberia by an Act of National legislature of Liberia in April 1969. It is the pioneer in the insurance industry in Liberia being the longest servicing insurance company. It was in 1978, when insurance company of Africa became a fully-fledged insurance underwriter when the bureau of insurance was developed, and it provided ICA with a certificate of authorization to operate legally as an insurance company.
