The Aga Khan University, is a private not-for-profit, internationally dynamic university based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, which aims to contribute to the socio-economic development of the region by improving the quality of education. The Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences - Bugando (CUHAS-BUGANDO) is located at Bugando Hill, within the Bugando Medical Centre (BMC) premises in Mwanza.

Our core business is training, research and consultancy services. We train health professionals in the fields of Medicine, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Nursing and Public Health through our Diploma, Bachelor, Masters and PhD programmes. Our students include local and international/foreign students from all walks of life.

The Muslim University of Morogoro was founded by the Muslim Development Foundation (MDF) on 23rd October, 2004 by a Charter proclaimed by MDF, the proprietors of the University. Studies commenced in 2005/2006.

The University is located north of the magnificent Uluguru Mountains, some 4 km from the centre of Morogoro Municipality, about 300m off the Morogoro-Dodoma highway and just about 10-minutes walk from the main bus terminal at Msamvu. The campus, surrounded by a wall and set in beautiful gardens, covers about 18 hectares.

The Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) is a successor to the Muhimbili University College of Health Sciences (MUCHS), which was a constituent College of the University of Dar es Salaam. MUCHS was established by an Act of Parliament, Act No 9 of 1991, when the then Faculty of Medicine was upgraded to a College. The Faculty of Medicine originated from the Dar es Salaam School of Medicine, which was established in 1963 by the Ministry of Health with the primary aim of training clinical health staff. In 1968, the Dar es Salaam School of Medicine was upgraded to a Faculty of Medicine of the Dar es Salaam University College of the University of East Africa. In 1976 the Faculty of Medicine was incorporated into Muhimbili Hospital to form the Muhimbili Medical Centre (MMC)

The University of Dar es salaam is the oldest and biggest public university in Tanzania.
