The African Airlines Association ( French: Association des Compagnies Aériennes Africaines), abbreviated AFRAA, is a trade association of airlines which hail from Africa.

An informal meeting of a few casino operators was held on 13th June 2003 at the Mayfair Hotel, Nairobi. It was at this meeting that the idea of forming an association for all the operators in the country was floated by a prominent operator. The idea was supported overwhelmingly. Indeed it was observed during the above meeting that while the Casino industry has been in existence in Kenya since around 1969, no formal forum existed to champion its interest despite the fact that the industry has made substantial positive contribution towards the development of the country in terms of employment and taxes.

Founded in early 2003 by a few feed millers, AKEFEMA was registered in August 2004 as an official representative of all registered feed manufacturers and associated businesses in Kenya

The history of FKE can be traced to the massive labour unrest of March 1955 in which trade unions demanded better terms of employment. Inter-Religious Council of Kenya (IRCK) is a coalition of all major faith communities in Kenya that works together to deepen interfaith dialogue and collaboration among members for a common endeavor to mobilize the unique moral and social resources of religious people and address shared concerns.

 

The existence of IRCK between 1983-2002 was characterized by conference participation and interspersed, yet adhoc inter-faith dialogue and action.

 

In 2004, the organization changed its name from World Conference on Religions for Peace Kenya (WCRP-Kenya) to IRCK. The Insurance Institute of Kenya (IIK) is the umbrella body for insurance professionals in Kenya. It was formed in 1948 as an affiliate of the Chartered Insurance Institute London until 2002 when it was registered as a society by the Registrar of societies.
