Founded in 1896, Bulawayo Public Library (BPL) is a Private Voluntary Organization registered in terms of the Welfare Act (Chapter 93). Unlike other Libraries such as those of colleges and universities which although open to public use have borrowing privileges only restricted to their students and staff, BPL is open to everyone as long as they join as readers. Our readers, currently above 10 000 are from communities within Bulawayo, countryside and other towns. These readers are made up of school children of all levels, colleges and university students, researchers and those who read for leisure.

About Us We are a Canadian Charity Edward Ndlovu Community Libraries raises money in Canada and the United States to support library services in Gwanda district in Matabeleland South province in Zimbabwe. Funds are transferred to our partner, Edward Ndlovu Memorial Trust (ENMT) in Zimbabwe. The ENMT carries out the projects on our behalf. ENCL monitors the projects and receives regular reports from ENMT. Funds raised from private donations have ranged from CAD$20,000-$40,000 each year over the past ten years. They represent approximately 20% of the budget of our partner.

NUST Library is temporarily housed in the Bulawayo city centre, pending the construction of the state-of-the-art Library at the University Campus. NUST Library has 3 branch libraries namely: Medical School Library, Graduate School of Business (GSB) Library and Faculty of Built Environment (FOBE) Library
