About Lifecare Africa
Lifecare Charity is a fully licensed and registered Non-Governmental organization in Uganda established with the primary objectives of: Empowering Ugandan women and youth with competitive modern vocational skills for the modern workplace.
Lifecare Charity was founded by Mrs. Shamila Kalisa, a Canadian-Ugandan mother with a vision to empower women and youth in Uganda. In spite being descendant from Rwandese royalty, wherein she is a Princess, her life and journey has been with great challenges and unrelenting focus to overcome them. Despite being of royal decent, it was at this challenging time in her life that she learned the value of a helping hand as she relied mainly on close family members and friends for her sustenance and upbringing.
Without the help of several people playing instrumental roles in her life, Shamila would not be where she is today. This is the reason why she is now inspired to give back to the community that helped to shape her as a great woman she is today. With Lifecare Charity, Shamila hopes to pay tribute and give thanks and acknowledgment to all those that have contributed her upbringing by reciprocating and providing that same support for others.
Her focus amongst others is in empowering women as she believes women are the pillars of the world and when you change a woman’s life you change the world.
Through her various very good extensive contacts, list of connections with resources, Shamila by establishing Lifecare Charity will touch more lives than she already has within the last 15 years on her own.
Upon introducing the idea of establishing a Charity to her family: her husband Mr. Mohamed Kalisa and daughters Sure and Husna Kalisa, they pledged their full support and jumped on board. Shamila often sees her own reflection through her daughters and knows her legacy will live on through them given their own unique skills and contributions to the charity as the founding family.
God has been so loving and gracious, God shared his love and kindness through the wonderful people placed around Shamila, now she will be the vessel through which his love will touch the lives of others.
