Agriculture, Environment and Livelihoods (AGRENES) is a biodiversity conservation and protection advocacy Non-Governmental Organization registered under the laws of Uganda (reg no S.5914/12518) not for gain incorporated in 2017. Uganda is the “Pearl of Africa” and home of tens of thousand of bird species, wild animals, tree species and source of the longest river in the world that support lives along the course of its journey to the Mediterranean Sea. The Pearl of Africa is a gift of nature and thus a fragile ecosystem that must be protected to ensure its continuity to support livelihoods. Based in Kampala with regional offices in all parts of Uganda, AGRENES focuses on improving rural household productivity through generating ecologically sound activities. AGRENES' philosophy is based on the belief that it is possible to galvanize whole communities through social mobilization and mobilisation of communities for protection of ecosystems through social entrepreneurship training
