His Heart For Africa was founded by Heather Teague in 2013 and was officially licensed as a 501(c)(3) in 2014; however, to fully understand her love of Africa we must rewind back to 2011. Heather was given the opportunity to spend 5 weeks in Uganda during Christmas break of her junior year in college. When Heather’s feet touched the Ugandan soil she immediately knew that leaving this beautiful country would be difficult. She enjoyed spending time with a friend who was in the process of adopting twins. Walking the red clay roads, handing out sweeties (candy) and shoes to beautiful children, making friends with young mothers living in the worst conditions imaginable… God was working on Heather’s heart. She wasn’t sure what God was planning nor how it would unfold but she KNEW she would be back in Uganda serving these people.
