UGCS was founded to strengthen cultural and social interaction between the people of the Republic of Uganda and the Federal Republic of Germany. The Society was established on 7th July 1989 and was first housed in Spear House under the kind and generous auspices of its first Chairman and founder member Mr. Gordon Wavammuno, who still us one of its one patrons. Over its 13 years of existence the society has achieved a large membership not only among Germans and Ugandans, but also among people from different parts of the world
