PACHEDO was founded in 2007 by a board of community development workers, health workers and academics with a broad range of international and local expertise and experience in the NGO sector as well as in academia. The organisation was established with the aim of supporting communities to live a dignified, healthy, and productive life, socio-economically empowered to innovatively meet and demand for their basic needs and rights, which is the ultimate goal of the organisation. PACHEDO is a local Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), registered by the National NGO Board with registration no. 9230. It acquired the national NGO status in December 2015 with the certificate of registration awarded. This gives the organisation liberty to operate nationwide. PACHEDO’s head office is located in Gulu, in Acholi region (Gulu district). Currently PACHEDO has 2 field offices, one located in Lira (Lango sub-region) and one in Pabbo (Acholi region, Amuru district).
