SIKYOMU DEVELOPMENT ORGANISATION FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV/AIDS started as a Community Based Organization that was established in 2006 by a group of five people who tested for HIV and found out that they were positive. The Organization was started as a result of the HIV effects and infections in the community and since the majority members were infected and affected by HIV/AIDs a local organization was formed to ensure that the affected households are supported to live positively with the burden of HIV/AIDS. In addition the organization also wanted to bring together people to access HIV prevention services including HIV counseling and testing, Access ART services and the marginalized most especially the HIV/AIDs infected and affected get a platform and have their voices heard in the economic, political and social transformation/Development of the society in which they live.
