About Institute of Corporate governance of Uganda(ICGU)
WHO WE ARE?
The Institute of Corporate Governance of Uganda (ICGU) was incorporated in December 1998 as a company limited by guarantee and was officially launched in October, 2000. It is charged with promoting good corporate governance practices in Uganda as an essential prerequisite for the accountability, integrity and credibility of institutions.

Objectives
Following the above Vision, Mission, Values and mandate, ICGU has established a strategic path presentation along five key objectives namely:
- Building national capacity in corporate governance;
- Broad communication on corporate governance and building awareness of ICGU;
- Advocacy for targeted laws and policies to enhance corporate governance;
- Membership development and Sustainability of ICGU as an organisation.
Several activities towards achieving the above objectives include: design and conduct of workshops, breakfast meetings, public lectures for business leaders, directors and executives of both public and private enterprises and NGOs; offering technical assistance in board evaluation, board recruitment, expert enterprise review ; as well as publication of a quarterly Journal - Sustainable Wealth Creation.
MEMBERSHIP
Membership is drawn from diverse professions, businesses and Institutional sectors with varying ideals and expectations. The strategy for membership development emphasises membership growth and offers value adding services to members of the Institute.
