About Ghana Federation of the Disabled
Ghana Federation of the Disabled (GFD) then Federation of Disabled Associations (FODA) was established in 1987 as a national umbrella organization of persons with disabilities with the then Ghana Association of the Blind (GAB), Ghana National Association of the Deaf (GNAD) and the Ghana Society of the Physicallly Disabled (GSPD) being the founding members.
Its current members comprise Ghana society of the physically Disabled (GSPD), Ghana Blind Union (GBU), Ghana National Association of the Deaf (GNAD), Inclusion Ghana (IG a coalition of organisations championing the course of persons with learning and interllectual disability), Ghana Association of Persons with Albinism, (GAPA) Mental Health Society of Ghana (MEHSOG) and Share Care Ghana (a group of people with neuro- immunological diseases and with autoimmune conditions)
