The Confederation of Associations of Agricultural Producers for Development, CAPAD in acronym, was created in 2000 and then approved by Ministerial Order n ° 530/1593 of December 31, 2003. It is made up of 107,570 family farming households (including 62 % headed by women) cultivating food crops, fruits and vegetables and also practicing livestock (small and large cattle). These farmers are united in 108 cooperatives located in 68 municipalities in 15 provinces.
