The Mia family started this business in 1937 in Booysens and was originally a General Dealer, selling groceries,crockery,cutlery,clothing,shoes,etc.Over the years we gradually introduced fishing tackle to the Range and by the end of 1969 the owners introduced small section of Fishing Items to their General Dealer selection, and this thing called fishing captured more and more space in the shop each year thereafter, and eventually the owners did away with the General Dealer concept of trading and converted to Specialized fishing store. Solly`s Anglers Corner have since became a household name for any fishing enthusiast, and have subsequently expanded to Fourways, Vereeniging, Pretoria and Rustenburg.
