Hypoestes Phyllostachya commonly known as polkadot plant.

It is an eye-catching little plant with brightly spotted leaves that stand out against the foliage. It grows 1-2feet tall and 1 foot wide.

The plant can be grown in the garden / flowerbeds, as a container plant and as a house plant.

Polkadot plants have a tendency of growing leggy, therefore to promote a bushier growth, pinch back the top 2 leaves on each stem. This also helps the plant to grow healthier and more vigorous.

If Grown as an outdoor plant, it likes a spot with some shade, too much sunlight causes the leaf colors to fade which lessens the ornamental value of the plant. As indoor plant, its better to place it where there is enough bright natural light.

Water moderately. Avoid letting the soil dry out as that causes leaves to wilt and the plant to struggle. Also the soil shouldn’t be soggy as that causes root rot.
